BIR Training Center is a multi-campus proprietary regionally accredited institution of career and language education. Established in 1993, BIR Training Center educates 2,000 students annually at its three Chicago campuses. BIR is seeking to fill a full-time position of Accounting and Office Administration (AOA) Program Coordinator. The position is responsible for the areas of Programming, Faculty and Staff, Students, and Industry Affiliations.
Qualifications: We are seeking an independent thinker, a self-starter capable of reaching to students and
industry who has:
3+ years of progressive industry experience including supervisory or management functions
Microsoft Office and
QuickBooks Proficiency
Good written and oral communication skills
Post-secondary teaching or workforce training experience
A
degree in accounting or a quantitative degree in business
Duties per area of responsibility
include:
Program Management
1. Oversee the daily, year-round, multi-campus operations of the program
2.
Participate in curricula and program development
3. Align the curriculum with industry certifications to reflect current industry
standards
4. Participate in the development of syllabi and outlines as well as in selection textbooks and learning materials
5.
Coordinate with the Operations Department in creating class schedules
6. Participate with other management to oversee and drive program
growth, outreach and student retention
Faculty and Staff
1. Maintain the faculty skills list and identify deficiencies
2.
Participate in faculty recruitment
3. Serve as the faculty recourse by engaging and coordinating instructors on course content and
expected outcomes
4. Observe instructors and classes and get regular feedback on the class / curriculum
5. Periodically train BIR
staff on the Accounting and Office Administration Program
6. Assist with content development for presentation materials and the web 8.
Proactively participate in open houses, outreach events, and marketing campaigns
Students and Prospects
1. Teach career
development class
2. Teach other classes in the AOA program as needed
3. Participate in monitoring students' progress toward
graduation and communicate to them about their academic performance
3. Advise students and prospects on issues related to the program,
career path or field opportunities
Industry Partnering
1. 2. Organize on-campus job fairs and solicit job openings from
employers for BIR students and alumni
3. Create advisory board that provides input into the curricula, programming and students
preparedness as well as creates awareness of the BIR brand
